BBQ @ Angels Beach, Tutong

On Thursday 25th, it was BBQ and picnic at the Angels Beach, Tutong. It's a wonderful beach, clean, well kept and complete with amenities.

On the scene first was us, and I set up the "barbee"... Then came Usu and LB, then Alin, Hj.Zaini and family, then Penih, Jat & bf and Baby, then Amal, then Bang Omar with Uda Puteh & Uda Ilah, Bapa & Babu came too, UL and family with their new Nissan Sunny, and lastly Idi Amri came with extra sausages. Alin did the pasta with the "help" of LB... and every one chipped in with the BBQ. A wonderful time..the children playing with the sand..and Bang Omar with his karaoke set.

Alas, came the rain around 2ish...when we were eating away. UJ warned us of the rain, as it was raining that morning at KB. Nevermind, we had fun, although we didn't play any games..that'll be continued some day!! Lots of prizes yet to be won!!
Here are the photos..happy viewing.

Holiday @KL

We were at KL for the school holidays this year. Plenty of nice places visited, and of course plenty of shopping (yup..it was Christmas and end of year sale!!)

Brooches....loads of them!

At Genting Highlands... visited Beryl's "chocolate house"

Yes, Genting was cold... and misty (up in the clouds!)
Our feet back on the ground...at Zoo Negara...

...watched the giraffes have their lunch.

Dinner to close the day..ikan bakar, gulai ala kampung..

Special thanks to Nordin, Asyraf and Sobri (not in the photo) for their time with us.

From Amsterdam To Singapore

Flight SQ323 at Schipol airport, Amsterdam

Stopped over at Singapore yesterday (29/11/2008), after a long haul flight from Amsterdam. Good shopping progress made for me, and as usual at this time of year, Singapore is all decorated and lit-up at night, for the upcoming Christmas. By the way, their shops closes at 11 pm!.. A shoppers paradise, shop 'til you sleep..

Den Haag (The Hague)

Yesterday, Sat 22nd, we went to The Hague. Used the tram, tram no.17, from Risjwijk (tram-stop was close to the hotel) - and I think it took us 15 minutes to get there.
Arrived at The Hague Central, wind was blowing, bringing the temperture down to about 4 deg. C.... was it cold! Hail came down every now and then too.
Earlier on, we greeted two Champion-7 colleagues, Zainol & Khalid, who had just arrived that morning. They're here for a week's training on maintenance engineering. Pg.Hj.Sufian and I helped them to check in. It was good to have more Bruneians here!!

H&M Dinner at LED, Grand Winston Hotel

A 3 course meal. Well presented...see the photos. Quite an experience though; here's a few things we had: apple froth (thought that came from the dishwasher!), cheek (more of roast beef), mini burgers (sweet...)...and in the conversations came about pirates, the SAS, intelligent rabbits, worms...quite a wide range of topics!

Thanks Arjan or Sam for the dinner!

In Holland

Arrived in Holland safely on Sunday. Put up at the Bastion Deluxe hotel, Rijswijk, not far from Shell EP offices - 7 minutes walk. A good brisk walk, not that I would do in Brunei, going to work! Temperature goes down to 7C at night...

Settling in nicely at the offices, and met quite a number of people already, and getting some good info I could take home.

Day light is short here at this time of the year...and these photos of the Shell building (EPiCentre) were taken at 8 am!

Travelling

Off to Amsterdam today, and now in transit at Singapore's Changi Terminal 3. My SIA flight is at 11.50 pm...almost midnight! Good that I can use the Silver Kris Lounge...lounging for a bit, took a shower..was it refreshing!

Waiting for 11pm..here's a couple of photos of Silver Kris Lounge.

Closing of Raya Celebrations

We went to, what I think, is the last of the Raya Open Houses tonight. A nice small gathering. Us men sat outside tonight, and after the heavy rain early evening, it was nice and cool, and refreshing. The ladies stayed indoors.

The food was typical Raya food...it was the jokes and the sitting down together that made the difference.

Good bye Syawal, insyaAllah we meet again next year!

With Rain Comes The Flood

We were going down to Tutong this morning, and it was still raining since last night. We suspected it'll be flooded in some areas, and I decided to use my pick up truck..Yup we we right, flood spots here and there, and what usually takes half an hour, took us more than an hour.

Again, be extra careful...forecast is that it'll be wet for the week!!

These photos were taken at Kampong Sinaut, right infront of the masjid..
