Closing of Raya Celebrations

We went to, what I think, is the last of the Raya Open Houses tonight. A nice small gathering. Us men sat outside tonight, and after the heavy rain early evening, it was nice and cool, and refreshing. The ladies stayed indoors.

The food was typical Raya food...it was the jokes and the sitting down together that made the difference.

With Rain Comes The Flood

We were going down to Tutong this morning, and it was still raining since last night. We suspected it'll be flooded in some areas, and I decided to use my pick up truck..Yup we we right, flood spots here and there, and what usually takes half an hour, took us more than an hour.

Again, be extra careful...forecast is that it'll be wet for the week!!

Rain Again...

It's been raining for almost the whole day now, and it's 7pm already. Started raining today around half-eight this morning...it's kinda cool and refreshing..




A word of caution to all us drivers though! Check your tyres please!!! If they're bald ("no flower" as us Bruneians would say it..) change them.

Sundays most tyre shops are open anyways.


Be safe on the roads ok! Wear seat belts! Keep headlights on - especially in heavy rains! Keep to the speed limits - and do drive slower if necessary...

Today...

Our volley ball match today was canceled..heavy rain in Seria today, apparently in Bandar too..drove back home around 6pm, most of Seria were flooded. Luckily I was using my Ford Ranger today!!

Tonight...was blogging away, trying to upload some more photos...no go! the network was busy or something!! going off to sleep now..

Hari Raya Open House

Selamat Hari Raya...kita masih lagi menyambut Hari Raya. Menu kali ini, ala kampung...umai, sambal, ikan bakar cukup sama cacahnya..ayam rendang, sayur pucuk ubi masak lemak, daging & urat asam pedas..dan nasi dua jenis, nasi biasa dan nasi Brunei (nya orang Brunei, nasi kabun!)

Terima kasih kepada isteri saya (bukan tempahan "catering" yer!) menyediakan makanan yang sungguh seeedddaaaapppp!!

Terima kasih juga kepada rakan-rakan dan saudara mara yang sudi datang...

Volley Ball Blues

Auwww...ouchhh..aduiii...that was the day after the first of our volley matches...my body and muscles were aching!! Volley-ball blues...not that "blue"..the team was in blue! Hahaha

Our team, the HSE Goal Zero...had practiced..only once though. We played against the IRP/2 team.. the ultimate for us was to Goal Zero the opponent!! Not a chance. The first set was great, we led, then they caught up going for a deuce!! Very close indeed..alas, we lost by a sheer 1 point. The second set was a different story...I decided to take a rest, too tired...and let Sham play...we lost tho'..hmmm someone then said "we gained space coz we lost volume!!" hahaha..

Nevertheless, we gained our objective - to participate - to have fun - to sweat!!

Thanks to the security troop for cheering us that day..all 50+ of them!! Next match on Weds 22nd guys..be there!!

A Pet To Be

We came across this beautiful lizard today...A'ah wanted to catch it and keep as a pet..and the lizard sort of wanted to be caught, stayed peacefully where it was, whilst A'ah went back to get a small glass aquarium.

I decided to catch a photo of it...caught it, with a couple of shots. It then jumped off..

Hari ini, di Brunei kami menyambut Hari Raya Aidilfitri...Alhamdulillah..

Selamat Hari Raya kepada semua Muslimin Muslimat sekalian.

Seperti lazimnya, sambutan Hari Raya dimulakan dengan bertakbir di Masjid dan seterusnya pada pukul 7.30 pagi sembahyang Sunnat Hari Raya Aidilfitri berjemaah.

Habis sembahyang, berkunjung ke rumah saudara, dan seterusnya menjemput kawan-kawan dan saudara mara ke rumah bagi jamuan Hari Raya...tahun ini dihidangkan kari ayam, "lapat", nasi minyak, satay, gulai pucuk..nyaman! Dan tidak ketinggalan kuih raya.
